PITTSBURGH -- Its been about a month since Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan had a talk with winger Phil Kessel. Sullivan wanted to see Kessels wicked shot more to, he hoped, increase his scoring. The Ottawa Senators, who visit PPG Paints Arena on Monday night, will have a chance to see the results, although they might not be thrilled about that.Over the past six games, Kessel has scored four goals to double his total from the first six weeks of the season. He has been contributing all season -- he has 16 assists and ranks third on the team with 24 points -- but seems to be getting back to the snipers role that has defined his career.Sullivan noted that when Kessel is on the puck, hes a threat. Hes got such a great shot, whether its off the rush, underneath the hash marks. ... We have to be a team that can generate offense different ways.Kessel has 29 shots over the past eight games. Saturday, he scored twice in a 5-3 win over Detroit, his first multi-goal game of the season. Those two goals came off of slick passes by Evgeni Malkin and Carl Hagelin, and Kessel was quick to deflect most of the credit to those two, and in hockeyese.Geno sauced me a good one on the first one, and Haggy made a great backdoor for a tap-in, Kessel said.Translation: Malkin found him with a cross-ice saucer pass for a one-timer, and Hagelins pass cut across the grain. The Penguins (15-7-3) have won two games in a row for the first time in almost a month, since Nov. 6 and 8, but they remain neck and neck and neck with the Rangers and Washington as the three jostle for the Metropolitan Division lead. The Senators (15-8-2), meanwhile, beat Florida 2-0 Saturday to break a two-game losing streak. The win brought them within two points of Montreal atop the Atlantic Division -- although the Canadiens then picked up another two points Sunday in a shootout win against Los Angeles.Ottawa coach Guy Boucher sensed some fatigue after the two straight losses, so he called off Fridays practice, and Saturdays morning skate was a lightly-attended optional. We needed to give the guys a rest, Boucher said. We were definitely hoping to have more energy, and thats exactly what happened. You saw that right off the bat. Our guys were skating hard. They were ready. Now the Senators will need to be ready to start a four-game, nine-day road trip that heads to the West Coast following the game against the Penguins. With goaltender Craig Anderson on leave from Ottawa to be with his wife as she battles cancer, Pittsburgh could see a familiar face in goal for Ottawa on Monday.Mike Condon began the season with the Penguins while Matt Murray recovered from a broken thumb. He played just one period. When Murray returned, Pittsburgh traded Condon to the Senators.Condon is 3-1-1 with Ottawa, including two shutouts -- the second one a 24-save job Saturday against Florida. Its quite a run.I dont really look too far in the past or too far in the future, Condon said. Im just trying to keep the game simple and just stay in the moment. Vapormax Grossiste . Still, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke thought taking him out before the fifth inning was an unusual move. "Im looking up at the board and hes got two hits given up and one run, and Im taking him out after the fourth inning," Roenicke said. Nike Air Vapormax Pas Cher . Isner, ranked No. 14, won his eighth career singles title and took the title in New Zealand for the second time after his victory in 2010. The match was similar to Isners quarterfinal victory over fifth-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber which went to three sets, all tiebreaks and contained no breaks of serve. http://www.maxnikepascher.fr/destockage-air-max-97/max-97-nior.html . Now, correct me if Im wrong but I saw one official distinctly pointing at the net indicating a good goal but after an inconclusive review they overturned the goal. Shouldnt the ruling on the ice (good goal) stand after an inconclusive review? Why was this overturned? James Veaudry Pembroke, ON -- Hey Kerry, Youll get a lot of these, but why was the Montreal goal against Nashville Saturday night overturned? Eller puts the puck on net and the on ice ruling from the ref behind the net is a Montreal goal. Air Max Pas Cher Chine . -- Matt Ryan needed one of the best games of his career to lead the Falcons and their depleted offence out of their three-game losing streak last week. MORAGA, Calif. -- Jock Landale credits his teammates for finding him at all the right moments in all the right places to make his shots at a remarkably reliable rate. Opposing coach Dave Wojcik praises Landale for the ease with which he scores through double-teams.Landale is shooting at a 75-percent clip this season, and the emerging big man is the biggest reason No. 15 Saint Marys is on a roll. His balanced supporting cast sure helps, too.The 6-foot-11 center scored 24 points and didnt miss a shot until 6:49 remained, and the Gaels beat Bay Area neighbor San Jose State 81-64 on Tuesday night. When asked if he knew what Landale was shooting, fellow Australian Emmett Naar responded: Probably pretty bad, I imagine. Hes not very good.Twelve percent, Landale said, chuckling.Landale has made 36 of 48 field goal attempts over his first four games for Saint Marys (4-0), which followed up a 61-57 victory Saturday at Dayton with another impressive win. He went 9 for 10 and also had seven rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.Landale has emerged as a force in the low post as senior starting forward Dane Pineau deals with lower back issues that have limited him so far.Weve got to throw him the ball; hes a beast in there, said Naar, who added 16 points.Calvin Hermanson also scored 16 for Saint Marys. With coach Randy Bennett remaining cautious, Pineau didnt play at all for the first time in four games after his back flared up again before tipoff.Joe Rahon contributed eight points, seven assists, five rebounds and three blocks for Saint Marys, which holds its highest ranking in the AP poll since it also was 15th in 1959. The program is ranked in the preseason poll for the first time.Ryan Welage scored 17 points and Jaycee Hillsman had 16 for San Jose State (1-3), which hung tough with the West Coast Conference favorite for most of the game but couldnt avoid a third straight defeat. Its a good measuring stick for us, Wojcik said. Nobody in the country thought we would win the game. I just told them, `We believe and youve got to prove yourself.Saint Marys shot 60.7 percent in the first half but led only 43-40 at the break as San Jose State toook advantage of 10 Saint Marys fouls and converted 10 of 11 free throws.ddddddddddddI didnt think our starters came out and played as well as we need to defensively, Bennett said. We dont give up 40 points in a half very often. The problem was never offensively. Our deal is were going to have to be consistent defensively.COSTLY TECHNICALSan Jose States Brandon Clarke was whistled for his third foul with 14:01 left and it turned into a costly four-point swing that produced a 58-51 Saint Marys lead after he picked up a technical for swearing after the initial call. The Gaels used that play to start an 18-2 run and build a 72-53 lead.Clarke apologized to his teammates for his second career technical. That kind of spun the game around, he said. I just pretty much told them sorry. I just felt like that was a turning point and I let them down with that play. Its stuff I can learn from.Wojcik liked the emotion, the coach just wished his sophomore forward had kept it to himself.BIG PICTURESan Jose State: The Spartans last victory against a Top 25 team was 60-59 in overtime against No. 19 Alabama on Dec. 27, 1996. ...
